Teach, Lead, Create

Drawn to the rhythm of the drums, its many stories,

Ellena studied and performed Senegalese  dances from Mali, Senegal and the Ivory Coast.  Also a poet and playwright, she writes dramatic work of social, economic and historical subject matter, driven  through personal characters.  The mysterious and unseen, writings take her on this journey of exploration she brings her passion of dance and rhythm of  words together on stage as the words dance off the page.   Ellena has been   dancing since 1987.   She  writes dramatic work of social, economic and historical subject matter, driven through personal characters. Drawn to the mysterious and unseen, writings take  her on this journey of exploration. She also studies tap and jazz. For Ellena, "Tap is music on  my feet." As a child, Ellena traveled abroad to Europe, Africa, Spain,   Greece—becoming aware of other cultures. Ellena is also a poet and playwright and  brings her passion of dance and playwriting together on stage -   wants the words to dance off the page as she's danced on the stage....
An   exerpt from one of her poems;
"...If flesh could dissipate and gravity elevate -
 I'd  dance through Jupiter across the night,
till all you'd see is a flash of light…
I Dance.
